Rolled Fondant is stretchable, soft and easy to roll out fairly thin, and maintains the shape well. It is commonly used to cover cakes where it is rolled out thin, and placed over a coat of buttercream, ganache or apricot jam. Rolled fondant should mainly be used for covering cakes and cutting out shapes that will lie flat.
